Meet Fractal Eyes, my new Kinetic Art Installation

April 14, 2018

As a 2017 - 2018 VACMA winning Artist, I was awarded funding to develop a Kinetic Art Installation with projection mapping. It's been months in the making, I'm excited to present...

What's it all about?

In the midst of a global call to action, this project is about my journey of transformation. From disconnection and despair, to reconnection and a newly found life and light.

Burnout and dissatisfied with urban life and office working, I set out to create something different. Through seeking out the beauty in ethereal nature and expressing my experience through art.

Visual language of optimism and hope

We are guided by the symbols that surround us. Considering the host of negative images that we are exposed to by the media, seeing through the veil to the positive and beautiful becomes ever more important to create a visual language of optimism and hope

The laser cut mirror diamond literally radiates positivity, a beacon of hope. It represents finding personal balance and true purpose. Inspiring others to create positive change.

I intend for my installation to make people wonder, to dig deeper about our existence as I do. To realise we are inextricably linked to nature on earth and in the stars, we are part of something magnificent. That we should respect nature spiritually as part of ourselves.

Acknowledgements and thanks

This project is proudly part funded by Creative Scotland and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar. The film is made with snippets from Neurodriver's awesome track 'Through the Prism.
